16/11/29 - FB - John T. Sharp (to Aaron Sorensen) - Oh buddy. You better start looking. Cause if you break the record by 20 hours or more and someone "whoever that is" finds rule out there that you didn't follow, then by God, prepare to have your integrity questioned.

I have got a lot of comments, a few good ... many bad ... i keep wondering why am i doing this ( in this example nobody questioned anybody's integrity, and 57-49hrs is less than 10hrs , or something like that )

Two years ago ? When Lisa Batchen said she is starting her quad at night ... And i told her she will always have a "little asterisk" saying "night start". She did not seem happy ... i could just feel that thru email. :-( She changed her schedule LAST MINUTE. And she fuc*ing did it ELEGANTLY. I still hope she is not upset on me. And i hope she is happy with that choice. ( by the way, very sorry about your mom).

I know Grant is faster than me and i believe him. But then where do you draw the line? What if XYZ famous marathoner, ultra runner, elite cyclist, deca-ironman they come and say ... ohh ... i will start whenever i want , and not give you a GPS tracker, and i do want to be added to the list , otherwise me and all my friends ... even people i do not know ... will bash you on Facebook till hell freezes over. So the year after the XYZ famous person, what is stopping Nobody-McCheater with zero experience to come and do the same thing ? And sue you for not adding them to the list?

Put it another way ... have you ever seen ONE SINGLE INSTANCE where the FKTs tracked by Peter Backwin , those people did not follow whatever rules they needed to follow ?? Do you doubt any of his record keeping ?

Put it yet another way ... let's vote all of us to remove any , some , or all the "guidelines". Let people send in proof "after" the fact ... proof which is much much much less reliable than a live GPS tracker .

I find logical arguments that the decision was a fair one ( and it wasn't even my own decision ) ... but still comments like these they hurt, and they do make me wonder why am i doing this ? Why .... 5-6 years ago, i never ran more than 100miles, and emailed Ben Jones ... and asked him to give me a ride ... and he did ... to a total stranger. And that changed my life.

I am gonna invite John T Sharp to join the Admin group and take responsibility.

So far none of the several people that vocally complained they did not join .
